I set up a studio of my own in 2014, after taking early retirement from lecturing in law. Prior to that I had learnt to cut, fuse and kiln form glass at the local university, but I wanted to be able to make large pieces such as splashbacks and wall art which require a large industrial size kiln.

I have chosen equipment which has enabled me to explore the wider potential of glass fusing and casting and my workshop has become home from home! Glass is an exciting and versatile material to work with and sometimes it seems to have a life of its own. Opening the kiln after a firing, there is always a moment of holding one’s breath, to see what the cut and assembled pieces of glass have become in the intense heat of the kiln.
